1. About this program
These terms apply only to the CaseBase Client Text Messaging program operated by String Inc. (“CaseBase,” “we,” or “us”) for individual client users of participating agencies. They do not govern staff accounts or an agency's subscription to CaseBase.
The program offers two separately optional categories:
- Messages by text: Receive conversations with authorized agency staff by SMS and, where two-way messaging is available, reply by text to those conversations in CaseBase.
- Text notifications: Receive automated notifications triggered by CaseBase events, such as appointments, schedule changes, check-in reminders, assigned documents, and account updates.
We send only the categories you enable. This program does not send advertising or promotional messages.
2. Your choice to receive texts
Enrollment is voluntary. You may enable messaging, notifications, both, or neither. Consent to one category does not enroll you in the other. You must affirmatively consent to each category at the mobile number maintained by your agency. Creating an account, providing a contact number, accepting general CaseBase terms, or viewing this page does not enroll you. You confirm that you are the subscriber or authorized user of the number. Messages may be sent using automated technology.
SMS consent is not required to use CaseBase or purchase anything. You may decline or stop texts and continue using CaseBase. Contact a staff member to add or correct your phone number. Your choice does not change an appointment, reporting requirement, or other agency obligation. Contact your agency to arrange another communication method.
3. Message frequency and charges
Message frequency varies based on your appointments, account activity, notifications, and conversations with staff. Message and data rates may apply to texts you receive or send. Contact your mobile provider for information about your messaging plan and charges.
4. Stopping text messages
You may withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP to a number sending you CaseBase program messages. You may receive one final text confirming cancellation. We will then stop program messages unless you separately opt in again. Withdrawing consent does not restrict your access to CaseBase.
Replying STOP may block both categories sent through the same number or messaging service. To turn off just one category, uncheck it and save in your text message settings. You may also turn off both categories there, or contact support@casebase.co and identify the number to remove. Do not include sensitive case information. To enroll again, complete the opt-in process again. Continuing to use CaseBase does not renew consent.
5. Getting help
Reply HELP to a CaseBase program message, or email support@casebase.co. For questions about appointments, reporting requirements, or an agency message, contact your agency directly.
6. Replies and delivery limitations
When two-way messaging is enabled, replies may be stored in CaseBase and made available to authorized agency staff. Sending a reply does not establish that staff have read it or approved a request.
Texts may be delayed, arrive out of order, or fail to arrive. Delivery and continuous availability are not guaranteed. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
This program is not an emergency service and may not be monitored continuously. Call 911 for an emergency.
7. Privacy and phone security
Our Client Text Messaging Privacy Policy explains how we handle mobile numbers, consent records, and messages. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers, SMS opt-in information, or consent records with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
SMS is not end-to-end encrypted. Messages may appear on your lock screen or be accessible to others who use your device. Do not text passwords, Social Security numbers, payment details, or sensitive case or medical information. Use the authenticated CaseBase application or an appropriate agency communication channel instead. Notify us promptly if your number changes or you no longer control it.
8. Changes and relationship to other terms
We may update these terms by posting a revised version with a new effective date. Changes do not automatically enroll you, renew withdrawn consent, or authorize additional message categories outside your consent. These terms control if other CaseBase terms conflict concerning SMS enrollment or withdrawal. They do not modify your agency's legal responsibilities or your underlying requirements.
Client users can sign in to save or withdraw SMS consent. Reading these terms does not sign you up.
